SHOE SCENE: Melissa, the Brazilian footwear brand best known for its plastic collaborations with designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood and Gareth Pugh, will open its first European store in London next year. Set to open its doors in January at 43 King Street, Covent Garden, in a site currently occupied by Ralph Lauren’s Rugby store, the 4,899-square-foot space will comprise ground floor and basement areas and stock all of Melissa’s collections, including the designer collaborations. The architect for the project is yet to be announced.
Melissa currently has two other namesake stores, in São Paulo and New York.
