It’s been six years since “Sex and the City 2” came out, and for many, it’s still hard to separate the personas of Carrie Bradshaw and the actress who played her, Sarah Jessica Parker.
But after countless interviews of Parker explaining just how very different she and Carrie really are (the most recent being in The Sunday New York Times about her new HBO show, “Divorce”), her latest move proves it once and for all. The actress, perfumer, entrepreneur and style icon has done something so very un-Carrie: She’s launching a dress line. And they’re all black.
Parker, whose new HBO show debuts next month, took to Instagram today to reveal the launch of SJP LBD, a collection of black dresses to be sold exclusively at Bloomingdale’s. Details were sparse as of this afternoon, but according to Parker, the collection is all “proudly made in the USA,” with the first silhouette launching at the retailer starting in October. Bloomingdale’s did not respond to queries at presstime.
If the retail gods are kind, the line could be a hit for Parker, whose two-year-old shoe line has scores of fans, with lines of them filling department stores across the globe every time she makes a personal appearance. On the beauty side, SJP launched a new fragrance in August called Stash, a bad-girl foil to the prim and successful Lovely.
