Skin, the luxury brand of soft pima and organic cotton intimate apparel, loungewear and sportswear, has been selected as among the featured brands in O, Oprah Magazine’s annual Oprah’s Favorite Things list in the December 2013 issue.
The magazine will feature Skin’s organic cotton V-neck long sleeve T-shirt and organic cotton double-layer drawstring pant in bright citrine. The 100 percent pima cotton items are manufactured in Peru and retail for $74 and $148, respectively.
Skin founder and creative director Susan Beischel said, “Oprah was one of my very first clients and I am honored that she has been a fan of Skin for many years. I couldn’t be more grateful that she chose Skin as one of her favorite things.”
Started in 2003 as an intimate apparel collection of the supersoft cotton undies, tanks, Ts, nightgowns and robes, Skin has grown into a premium lifestyle brand. The brand launched its first collection of sportswear this fall, exclusively in 19 Barneys New York stores nationwide. The collection’s modern designs and casual yet refined styling reflect the Skin customer: “A woman who wants sophisticated, comfortable and versatile clothing to take her from morning to night,” explained Beischel.
In addition to Oprah, other celebrity fans of Skin casualwear include Angelina Jolie, Carine Roitfeld, Sarah Jessica Parker, Christy Turlington and Halle Berry, said Beischel.
Skin is sold in more than 300 stores including Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and on e-commerce sites such as Net-a-porter.com and Shopbop.com. Skin launched in Selfridge’s in London in September. This year, Beischel was inducted into the CFDA and was one of seven finalists in the 2013 CFDA/Lexus Eco-Fashion Challenge.
