SOLSTISS ON THE SILVER SCREEN: French lace specialist Solstiss has collaborated on the new Hollywood epic adaptation of “The Great Gatsby.” Catherine Martin, an Academy and Tony Award winner for production and costume design, called on Solstiss to create the embellished and plain lace, which is a key stylistic element for the transformation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s characters onto the big screen.

Solstiss produced about 1,400 meters of lace for the film, featuring 210 special patterns selected by Martin and her team. The film will feature Solstiss geometric and floral lace hand-embellished with crystals, paillettes, ribbons, feathers and metallic beading, creating an Art Deco sensibility to portray America during the Roaring Twenties.
