SOPHIE’S CHOICE CUTS: Sophie Simmons is a “one size does not fit all” kind of girl and for her recent TheStyleClub collaboration she applied this philosophy to clothing.
Now she’s taking a turn at fine jewelry taking the approach to “one look does not fit all.” The 22-year-old daughter of KISS’ tongue famous bassist Gene Simmons and Canadian model Shannon Tweed has partnered with Diamondère.com, the online custom jewelry company, just in time ironically for the kisses’ biggest holiday— Valentines Day. Simmons is launching a customizable jewelry line in which customers choose their own metals and stones with options such as 14K rose, white and yellow gold, sapphires, tanzanite and, of course, diamonds. Inspired by her love of nature, the collection consists of 16 pieces that range in price from $329 for a ring to $3,680 for a bangle.
Simmons wanted to create pieces that were small enough to wear everyday but “sparkly enough to wear going out.” She kept things on the feminine side as “growing up with leather and studs, you avoid it at all costs.” It was a bit of a dream come true for the famous offspring to work with Diamondère who let her make everything customizable, a concept she thinks of for most things.
Collaborating clearly agrees with Simmons who say she feels the “future of fashion is collaborations with tastemakers. I don’t see there being a new Chanel that going to be here in 200 years.
