Stella McCartney made a quick stop in Los Angeles Friday on her way back from her Neiman Marcus event in Dallas to host a private shopping event to benefit the organization HEART, or Helping End Abuse-Related Trama. Held at the Brentwood home of interior designer Molly Isakson and United Talent Agency partner Jay Sures, the standing-room-only, lunchtime event began with a moving speech by Dr. Astrid Heppenstall Heger, founder of the Violence Intervention Program at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center in East Los Angeles. McCartney, who wiped tears from her eyes as she followed Heger to the podium, said, “I came her prepared with funny things to say and now you can wipe the floor with me.”

After the Gjelina-catered lunch, guests moved to the temporary Stella McCartney store erected over the covered swimming pool. The designer was quickly surrounded by guests requesting photos with her, and joked, “You can be rude to me just for one day; it’s for a good cause.”

Among the famous faces in the mix were Jessica Capshaw, two weeks away from giving birth to her fourth child with her husband, The Honest Co. cofounder Christopher Gavigan, her mother Kate Capshaw, Molly Sims, Olivia Culpo, Leona Lewis, Rachel Zoe, Jenni Kayne, Elizabeth Berkley, Rachel Roy, Lisa Eisner, Andrea Lieberman, Dyan Cannon, Shiva Rose, Maggie Grace, Lt. Gov. of California Gavin Newsom (a friend of Sures’) and Los Angeles Clippers’ coach Doc Rivers. Not surprisingly, many of the women had done some pre-shopping at McCartney’s Beverly Boulevard store, which was donating a portion of proceeds to HEART, and the denim all-in-one was by far the most-worn item.
