BLACKOUT: Eager to hear former President George W. Bush’s take on retail and the economy? Well, better cozy up to former Saks chief executive officer Stephen I. Sadove.

Sadove will be on stage with the 43rd U.S. President as he delivers the keynote address at the National Retail Federation’s 103rd annual convention this morning. But there’s one problem — the session is closed to industry analysts and members of the press. No Webcast, no video, no photos, no nothin’. According to an NRF spokeswoman, the blackout is being mandated “at the request of the President,” and “there will be no coverage whatsoever coming from his session.”
