“Have you seen the collection? My wife designed those shoes,” Tobey Maguire said while pointing toward look book images lining the candlelit walls of Chateau Marmont’s Penthouse 64 entrance. Each displayed a style from the Superga XO Jennifer Meyer collaboration, a project that gave the actor an “extremely proud” husband moment.

In between bonding with guests over presidential candidates, Maguire continued saying, “She’s very creative. Her designs are so authentically her that it’s fun to see her creativity and imagination, in this case, manifested in shoes.”

Nearby the collection of low- and high-top sneakers featuring patterns or gold pendant details were on display under a neon-heart. “The palm trees — I’m born and raised in L.A., so that’s California,” said Meyer of the print, adding, “The embroidered shot-through-the-hearts are a part of my collection.”

Tuesday night’s debut drew a starry coterie of friends and fans including Kate Hudson, Courteney Cox, Demi Moore, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Ashley Benson and Kevin Connolly, among others.

“I think they’re beautiful,” Hudson said of the shoes. “Jen is one of my best friends on the planet. I’ve known Jen since I was born.”

Mirroring that feeling, Cox said, “I love everything Jennifer does. She’s got amazing taste, amazing style. I always wear her jewelry. I have all of her clothing line. She’s one of my very best friends and I just happen to be a huge fan as well.”

Although the intimate gathering was full of Meyer fanatics, perhaps the biggest of them all were missing in action; most likely due to early bedtimes. “They love them,” the designer said, relaying her children’s excitement.

The women’s and kids’ line, which launches this month and is available for pre-order online and in Barneys New York, ranges from $149 to $199. “I’m forever a fan of Superga since the seventh grade,” Meyer said. “Incorporating kids was extremely, extremely important to me.”

A 13-year-old Maddie Ziegler, who confessed being “too young” to pucker up to someone in the photo-kissing booth and instead opted for blowing kisses, represented for the kids. “It is so cute; I want to get a pair. I like the heart ones.” On the way out, party-goers were each gifted with shoes, causing Ziegler to exclaim, “These are the ones I wanted.”
