LEAPING TO MARKET: Dover Street Market New York will toughen up its second floor, beginning Thursday, with a retail installation devoted to London-based jewelry brand The Great Frog. The 43-year-old label, whose rock ‘n’ roll following has included members of The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, will stock the installation with more than 20 products. Prices will range from $150 up to $30,000.
The shops-in-shop will take up residence in Rei Kawakubo’s Kips Bay retailer for only a few weeks’ time. It will debut Thursday during DSMNY’s “Open House,” a multifaceted consumer event comprised of designer appearances, Rose Bakery tastings, and an hour-long extension on the store’s hours. This year, the annual event was scheduled to coincide with New York’s bevy of May art industry events, including this week’s Yoko Ono and Frieze Art Fair openings.
The Great Frog currently operates its own brick-and-mortar stores in New York, London and Los Angeles.
