THE OTHER VIVIER: Los Angeles “It” girl designer Clare Vivier celebrated the launch of her Silver Lake flagship with a cocktail party and private dinner hosted by Shiva Rose, Marlien Rentmeester and Minnie Mortimer Saturday evening. Reminiscent of boutiques in Paris’ Marais, the 750-square-foot space, designed by L.A. architect Barbara Bestor, features a marine blue storefront and a triangular layout. Guests including Sophia Bush, Kirsty Hume and Heidi Merrick mingled inside the stark white interior, where Caran d’Ache pens, Leanne Shapton book covers and Steven Alan accessories are sold alongside Vivier’s signature fold-over clutches and totes retailing from $100 to $500.
Exclusive to the store is a new monogramming program. “The timing is perfect with the line expanding,” said Viver, noting a new sandal from Italy and a men’s accessory collaboration with Steven Alan for fall.
Vivier, whose pieces are carried in more than 200 stores nationwide, plans to expand in more ways than one, saying, “We’re definitely doing another store in New York and hopefully Paris one day soon.”
