POPPING UP: The Tie Bar is expanding its brick-and-mortar presence.
The men’s accessories brand is launching three pop-ups for the holiday season, which will be in Chicago, New York and Washington.
“These cities all continue to be top markets for our rapidly expanding brand,” said Michael Alter, chief executive officer of The Tie Bar. “Opening pop-up shops has proven extremely effective for us, showcasing the breadth of our collections in a dynamic environment, exposing us to new clientele, and proving firsthand why The Tie Bar is known as a driving force in men’s accessory trends.”
The Chicago pop-up will be located within the downtown Loop’s Wit Hotel. The New York pop-up will be on Bleecker Street and the Washington shop will be within the luxury apartment community The Shay. Both the Chicago and New York temporary stores will open in October, and the D.C. shop will open in November. This is the first time the brand has had a retail presence in the nation’s Capital.
The stores will feature a selected assortment of neckties, bow ties, tie bars, pocket squares, belts and socks in addition to pieces from The Tie Bar’s collaboration collections with actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and NBA star Dwyane Wade. The offering ranges from $8 to $35.
The Tie Bar has a permanent store in Chicago, but has no set plans to open more boutiques.
