HOUSTON CALLING: The Webster plans to open its first store outside Miami Beach in November at the Houston Galleria. The 5,000-square-foot store will occupy part of a freestanding building under construction in a parking lot of the Galleria, which houses about 400 stores and eateries, two hotels and three office towers.
The new building, which has been dubbed the “jewel box” by mall owner Simon Property Group, spans 14,000 square feet and will feature a transparent facade of framed glass, explained spokesman Les Morris. The Galleria is also in the midst of other improvements, including Saks Fifth Avenue’s move into a bigger space.
The Webster currently has units in Miami Beach and at the Shops at Bal Harbour.
Simon also revealed that Celine has leased a spot in the Galleria for next year open and La Perla and Tod’s are set to debut this spring.
