TO THE DUKEDOM: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made an official visit to their namesake city on Wednesday — their first since Queen Elizabeth II conferred the Dukedom on the couple on their wedding day in April 2011.
Arriving in the city via a first-class train journey from London’s King’s Cross, where they were rumored to have spent the night at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, they were greeted by cheering crowds as they began a day of engagements which began with a visit to the Guildhall to meet local dignitaries.

They then went on to a reception with students at the ancient University of Cambridge’s Senate House; a tour of Jimmy’s, a homeless and resettlement center; a private lunch at a pub, the Fort St. George; a drama, music and dance performance at the Manor School, and officially opened the state-of-the-art Peterborough Hospital.
Kate wore a Max Mara coat and sported the new bangs that made their debut on Tuesday night.
