CITY ISLAND — Tommy Hilfiger is lounging away with a pop-up island in occasion of Milan’s furniture and design trade show Salone del Mobile.
In less than 24 hours the brand built a 3,229-square-foot island, complete with sand, palm trees, lounge chairs and straw huts in the buzzing Tortona district on a roundabout traffic, where weary visitors can take a break during the city’s Design Week events.
At the “Island State of Mind,” visitors can play video games that simulate a jet-ski race, take pictures in a photo booth or participate with their printed photos in a raffle to win goods from the brand and a new Microsoft Lumia 950 mobile phone.
The island will be remain open from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. everyday until Apr. 17.
