UNDERCOVER COMEBACK: Uniqlo said Wednesday it is launching a new kids’ apparel line in collaboration with fashion brand Undercover, its second design effort with the Japanese fashion brand.

Uniqlo first joined forces with Undercover designer Jun Takahashi in 2012 when the two parties launched a family-orientated collection with pieces for men, women and children. That project lasted two seasons. Uniqlo said the kids’ apparel was particularly popular. Like the first time around, the collaborative collection will be called “UU”.

The Japanese brand, owned by Fast Retailing Co. Ltd., said the new collection will be available at Uniqlo stores in Japan and most international of its markets as of Oct. 31.  The collection will feature 14 styles centered on light, quick-drying fleece.

In a similar move involving the revival of a past product line, Uniqlo last month launched a special collection of  hit products from the +J collection Jil Sander crafted for the retailer over five seasons from fall-winter 2009. Sander is not involved in the project.
