Victoria’s Secret Angel Lily Aldridge unveiled the $2 million “Fireworks Fantasy Bra” on Monday at the retailer’s Third Street Promenade store in Santa Monica, saying, “Getting to wear it is a huge honor and it’s a dream come true to follow in the footsteps of so many other amazing women,” such as Gisele and Heidi Klum.
The bra, designed by Pascal Mouawad, features 6,500 precious stones including diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz set in 18-karat gold. As for whether it was comfortable, Aldridge told WWD, “They did a body cast of my body and molded it me so it fits perfectly. I wish I didn’t have to give it back.”
The bra will be hers until after she wears it down the Victoria’s Secret runway show at New York’s Lexington Avenue Armory on Nov. 10, after which a lucky buyer may purchase it. In case there are no bidders, the show already raised an estimated $2 million for charity through auctioning tickets. Until then, Aldridge plans to prep by doing a lot of Ballet Beautiful, getting plenty of beauty sleep and “working out as much as possible.” Afterwards, she plans to treat herself to Champagne and pizza.
“It’s one of my favorite nights of the year,” she said of the show.
The show will air at Dec. 8 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
