Vionnet SpA said in a statement issued on Tuesday that creative directors Barbara and Lucia Croce “have, currently, interrupted their collaboration” with the storied brand. This confirms a WWD Fashion Scoop the previous day. No motivations were given for the split, but sources in Milan said Vionnet’s new owner, the London-based Goga Ashkenazi, who took control of the brand through her Go to Enterprise Sarl entity in May, clashed with the designers. The twin sisters Croce joined Vionnet last October, succeeding Rodolfo Paglialunga. In the statement, Vionnet also said the Paris spring show will be held regularly on Sept. 28, albeit designed by an in-house team, and that it will mark the 100th anniversary of the brand on Sept. 30 “with a special event and presentation of the Demi Couture collection.”
