NEW GUEST: Vivetta will be the new guest designer at Giorgio Armani’s theater later this month. The Italian women’s fashion label founded in 2010 by Vivetta Ponti will show its collection on Feb. 28 during Milan Fashion Week. “My support to the new generation of fashion talents confirms that there are many young designers with different visions, each very personal and heartfelt,” said Armani, who started supporting young designers by offering his show space in June 2013. “A variety that brings hope to the future of fashion. It’s great to see enthusiasm, dedication and creativity. I wish Vivetta, whom I chose this season, a long, successful career.”
Based in Assisi, a historic village in central Italy, Ponti designs very feminine collections, focused on clean, simple lines but always peppered with an ironic, quirky touch. “I thank Giorgio Armani for the support and the opportunity he gave me, by inviting me to present my new collection at the Armani Teatro,” Ponti said. “It’s not just an honor, but an incredible opportunity for a young designer like me, a unique occasion for my creativity to be on a catwalk so rich in emotions,” she said.
Armani previously offered his theater to designers including Andrea Pompilio, Stella Jean, Julian Zigerli, Au Jour Le Jour’s Diego Marquez and Mirko Fontana, Christian Pellizzari, Angelos Bratis and Edmund Ooi.
