W New York-Union Square’s “In Residence” partner, mixed media artist Maxwell N. Burnstein will transform the hotel’s Living Room into an electric experience with a multidimensional graphic installation.
This inaugural exhibit will mark the start of W New York-Union Square’s Artist “In Residence” program, bringing global artists in quarterly to transform the hotel into an art gallery.
Burnstein has teamed with Baja East, the luxury apparel brand, and Alexander Saladrigas, a New York-based photographer, on the source material for the exhibit. A sensory experience that draws influence from New York Men’s Fashion Week and the hotel’s Union Square location, the exhibit focuses on New York’s world of underground art, fashion and culture. Burnstein’s trademark images, that cut and repeat images within themselves, will be on display.
The hotel plans a private event to celebrate the exhibition Thursday evening. The exhibition will be open to the public for viewing in the hotel’s Living Room spaces from Thursday evening through the Summer Olympics.
The W New York-Union Square is at 201 Park Avenue South at 17th Street.
