WANTABLE SECURES $1.5M IN SERIES A ROUND: Wantable, a membership styling service similar to Stitch Fix, has secured $1.5 million in a Series A round of funding.
According to founder and president Jalem Getz, the investors primarily are local to the Wisconsin area. Together with the $800,000 in its seed raise, the company has secured a total of $2.3 million in fund-raising since it launched two years ago. The funding will be used to invest in technology, as well as staffing, as the firm expands into other category verticals.
The company currently has brand offerings in three verticals that its members can choose from: fashion and accessories, makeup and intimates. In September, the site will feature a fourth vertical for fitness apparel.
Members receive four items every month that a box is sent to their homes. Stylists choose items to fit a user’s style based on a questionnaire that the user completes. A one-time collection box costs $40, while subscription collections cost $36. Members can change verticals at any time.
