FIFTEEN MINUTES MORE: WeSC and the Andy Warhol Foundation have joined forces to launch Warhol Conspiracy apparel next summer in the U.S., Asia and Canada. Drawing from six different patterns of the artist’s Camouflage paintings and prints, the collection will feature jackets, shirts, shorts, hoodies, headphones, limited edition skateboards and accessories. There will also be a limited edition T-shirts with Warholian quotes and an assortment of his self-portraits.
Aimed at better department stores and specialty ones, as well as WeSC stores, the collection will retail from $48 to $198 with 10 percent of the sales benefitting the foundation.
WeSC’s chairman Theodor Dalenson said, “We have had many interesting artist and activist collaborations through the years but none of the collaborations have been as spot on for the brand for “Intellectual Slackers” as Andy Warhol’s Camouflages. Warhol is one of the original Intellectual Slackers and besides being one of the most important artists of all times, perhaps the most important, he is as relevant to contemporary culture today, 27 years after his death, as when he started.”
