HAUTE LIST: Yiqing Yin, the Chinese-born, Paris-based designer, has been granted the official haute couture appellation. It’s a distinction administered by France’s Ministry of Industry.

A commission met on Dec. 16 and anointed Yin as the Chambre Syndicale’s newest full-fledged member. She had previously been a guest member.

Yin recently parted ways with Leonard after two years as creative director of the French fashion house, as reported.

“I needed more time to focus on my own brand,” the designer told WWD earlier this month, adding that she planned to concentrate on the kind of intricate couture designs that launched her career in 2011.

There are now 14 fashion houses with the haute couture appellation, including established labels such as Dior and Chanel, as well as relative newcomers like Alexandre Vauthier and Bouchra Jarrar; seven correspondent members, including Giorgio Armani and Azzedine Alaïa, plus 12 guest members.

Yin’s show is set for Jan. 26.
