THINKING PINK: Zandra Rhodes will be adding a dose of colorful eccentricity to the Paris showroom ON|OFF during Paris Fashion Week, which specializes in British-based labels. The designer on Feb. 29 will attend a retrospective catwalk show at the event honoring her creations from over the past 36 years.
Staged in partnership with Land Rover, the show will mix around 20 signature archive Rhodes designs with special one-off looks created for the event. Many of the archive pieces are from the traveling exhibition: “Life Long Love Affair with Textiles.” Rhodes, who has not shown in Paris since the Seventies, is currently working on a Lady Godiva project for the London Olympics this summer. It involves 20-foot-tall mechanical lady dressed by the designer. It is to travel from Coventry to London powered by 100 cyclists.
