Swim Week is headed to Miami.
But this year, the event will include a tropical garden oasis complete with models, backstage equipment, hair and makeup people and production assistants, thanks to Nu Wave Swim.
The company, led by Seth Browarnik, founder of photo agency World Red Eye, and Michele Addison, previously of Modern Luxury, provides everything needed for a runway show so that designers and brands can travel to Miami light — without having to bring all the extras with them.
“There is a huge opportunity for growth in our city so there is no better time than now to revitalize, re-awaken and reignite Swim Week, Miami’s most exciting week of the summer,” Browarnik said in a statement. “Nu Wave Swim will infuse new energy into Swim Week and will provide brands a hyper-targeted and relevant audience while giving a focus to our local partners.”
Miami Swim Week, which includes the latest in swim and resortwear, runs from July 11 to July 16, and has long been the place for the industry’s top fashion executives and buyers to see what’s new under the sun, while designers show off their latest swimwear collections.
The weeklong extravaganza includes runway shows, pop-ups, parties and more.
Between July 11 and July 14, Nu Wave Swim is offering a variety of packages for designers presenting — including production, backstage assistance and guest list management — so they can travel without the hassle and focus on their designs rather than the minor details. In addition, designers and brands using Nu Wave Swim’s services will have access to fashion editors, buyers and other VIP influencers. Clients can register for services at Nuwaveswim.com.
In addition, Nu Wave Swim will transform a venue space in South Beach, just steps away from the Miami Beach Convention Center, into the Nu Wave Swim Garden, complete with flowers, wellness activations, runway shows and plenty of its own parties.
The upscale SoHo Beach House hotel will hold a panel discussion with designers, including Red Carter, Rod Beattie and Tori Praver, while guests nibble on eats by Miami chef, restaurateur and James Beard award winner Michael Schwartz. Nu Wave Swim will close with a multi-designer runway show on July 14.
