Missy Franklin in a look from her new collection.

Swimmer Missy Franklin may have come up empty in the individual medal tally at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but Speedo is sticking behind her.

Today, the swimwear brand will officially introduce the Missy Franklin Signature Series collection of suits for women and girls. The line is taking holiday preorders at select retailers and on the Speedo web site.

The collection consists of 18 one-piece and mix-and-match separates suits in three colorways.

“Everything Missy brings to the pool shines through in this collection — her extensive experience in and around the water, sense of style, vibrant personality and creative spirit,” said John Graham, the newly named president of Speedo USA. “She has been a phenomenal partner, lending her understanding of what makes a great suit — both for training in the water and feeling confident by the pool or on the beach. We are [pleased] to make this collaborative line available today.”

The line features chlorine-resistant fabric on the outside and inside and Franklin’s motto: “With strength and dignity…” is also inscribed on the suits’ grippers and bands.

“Over the years, I’ve learned so much about finding joy in the water — as a competitor and someone who enjoys spending time at the pool with family and friends,” said Franklin. “Self-expression is important in both settings, and wearing bright colors and patterns with my pink Speedo goggles has always brought a smile to my face. To have created a line with Speedo USA that stands up to tough training and is comfortable and fun for everyday use at the pool has been an incredible experience for me.”

The suits will retail for $69 for the one pieces and $24 to $34 for the two-piece separates. They’re available in sizes 24 to 40.

Franklin won five Olympic medals in the 2012 games, four of them gold. In 2016, she won gold in a relay event.
