Capsule and Merchant Factors have joined forces to award a scholarship to an emerging designer for the upcoming spring 2017 ready-to-wear and accessories show in New York from Sept. 17-19.
The scholarship is being offered to contemporary women’s fashion, accessories or footwear designers who have been in business for at least two seasons with annual sales under $250,000. Designers are invited to apply for free booth space at the show. The winner will be selected by a panel of industry insiders and the Capsule team.
“We hope that this show’s scholarship winner has as much success as the prior scholarship winners. It is our continued goal to help these individuals and companies seize every opportunity so that their talent is showcased to the industry,” said Joshua Goodhart, executive vice president and national sales manager, Merchant Factors.
Those interested should submit their web site URL, brand bio, recent line sheet, look book, stockist list and a letter explaining why they’d like a scholarship to Capsule at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 25. A winner will be selected in June.
Capsule was created in 2007 by New York-based fashion consultancy BPMW and was acquired by Reed Exhibitions in 2013.
