As a former senior buyer for Bergdorf Goodman, Sunni Spencer knows what sells: exclusives.

Spencer, vice president at ENK Vegas, is now helping a consortium of women’s contemporary designers to create pieces that will be available only to buyers at the trade fair. Having previously collaborated with Ralph Rucci, Monique Lhuillier and Reem Acra to create one-of-a-kind gowns for Bergdorf’s, she is taking the unusual step to codesign key items with a half-dozen brands across multiple categories.

There’s a dress by Miguelina, low-rise sneakers from Kim & Zozi, a necklace by Jennifer Zeuner, a topper by Grace Hats, a silk-and-tulle blouse from Stefanie Biggel and a jumper by Sam & Lavi.

All the designers took inspiration from the show’s artwork, which washed bold, graphic shapes in a blue-and-purple palette. Sam & Lavi, for instance, digitally printed the pattern on its short and long jumpsuits. Wholesale prices start at $25 for the hat and run up to $210 for the silk shirt. While Kim & Zozi, Grace Hats and Sam & Lavi will sit on the main floor, the others will take up residence in the Oasis area.

“Why not get involved as an organizer and create something as a partnership and attract business to our clients’ booths?” Spencer explained of the reasoning behind the collaborations.

If ENK buyers respond favorably — and write up orders accordingly — then codesigns could come back at future shows. “If it is positive,” Spencer said, “it’s expandable, for sure.”
