Brandon Thomas Design, a moderate-priced outerwear, jacket and sweater private label manufacturer, has opened a sportswear separates division at 1407 Broadway in Manhattan. Wholesale prices range from $10 to $30 for the separates that include novelty plaid and boucle jackets, ruffled and pleated white cotton shirts, novelty plaid and tweed skirts, and novelty sweaters with hardware and zippers. The line will be offered under the Brandon Thomas label, as well as private label for retailers. The initial transitional and fall line will be introduced in January to department and specialty stores, with first-year sales projections at $10 million. Marc Abramson, former president of Requirements, and Liz Berlly, former vice president of sales at Requirements, will head the division, and Anna Calamia, former vice president of design and merchandiser at Tracy Evans, and Melodie Augustine, former vice president of design and merchandiser at Reference Point, will oversee merchandising and design.
