• KENSIE COAT DEAL: The Liz Claiborne Inc.-owned contemporary label Kensie has signed a licensing deal with New York-based Fleet Street Ltd. to create women’s outerwear for the Kensie and Mac&Jac brands. The line will feature down- and polyester-filled coats in addition to structured wool and raincoats. Fake leather, fur and shearling styles will also be included in the launch, which is planned for fall. Both lines will be available to department and specialty retailers in the U.S. and Canada. Kensie coats will wholesale from $25 to $65 and Mac&Jac will wholesale from $40 to $75.

• CHAUS CFO SHIFT: David Stiffman, chief operating officer and a director of Bernard Chaus Inc., has taken on additional responsibilities as the firm’s chief financial officer. The company said Barton Heminover “agreed to step down” as cfo but will serve in an advisory capacity through February. Stiffman was a vice president of Liz Claiborne Inc. before joining Chaus as chief operating officer in December 2007.

• TRIATHLON SPONSOR: TYR Sport Inc. has signed a multiyear sponsorship deal with USA Triathlon, the national governing body for the sport of triathlon. TYR will become the official swimwear, Team USA competition and training apparel outfitter and swim accessories and goggles supplier for the organization. TYR, which has manufactured swimwear for 25 years, has branched out into triathlon apparel and accessories, swim skins and a new line of wetsuits, the Hurricane series.
