Marking its 30th anniversary of receiving new product donations from the fashion, home and children’s industries, K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers will honor two industry leaders and a charitable foundation at its annual gala fund-raiser on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
The honorees are Dow Famulak, president and chief operating officer of Global Brands Group, Stuart M. Brister, president of the commercial services division of Wells Fargo Capital Finance, and Shikshya Foundation Nepal, with its cofounder Prabal Gurung.
“This is an outstanding celebration supported by the fashion and children’s industries,” said Haresh Tharani, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of The Tharanco Group, who is gala chairman. “These honorees and their colleagues help us with our mission of providing donated, new product to people challenged by poverty and natural disasters, such as the recent earthquake in Nepal.”
The theme of this year’s gala is “Invest in the Future,” underscoring how new product donated throughout the year helps community partners provide hope, dignity and self-esteem to people in need. Gala tables start at $15,000 and a limited number of individual tickets will also be available at $1,500. There are special opportunities for corporate or brand sponsorship at the gala.
K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers brings together retailers, manufacturers, foundations and individuals to provide new merchandise to families and people impacted by poverty and tragedy. Since 1985, more than $1.2 billion of donated products have been distributed, serving the poor and disadvantaged worldwide.
