Wool and the Gang, the British fashion and lifestyle brand, has partnered with Every Mother Counts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for mothers around the world.
As part of the collaboration, Wool and the Gang will feature a crochet set for babies called “Oh Baby” consisting of a hat, pair of booties and bib. The set will be available as a crochet kit with all the supplies needed to craft one’s own and is also available as ready-made items that are hand-crocheted in a sustainable way.
With every “Oh Baby” ready-made set and crochet kit sold, Wool and the Gang will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to Every Mother Counts.
Beginning Friday, the crochet kit and ready-made items will be available on woolandthegang.com. The kit retails for $36 and the ready-made set retails for $97.
“As a fashion brand in the sustainable space, we’re determined to operate in ways that impact positively the environment with a long-term look to align with charities that we can support creatively,” said Jade Harwood, cofounder of Wool and the Gang.
Alex Newbold, director of partnerships at Every Mother Counts, added, “We are committed to educating people about maternal health and inspiring them to be part of the solution.”
All ready-made items are crafted by hand by knitters and crocheters from around the world. Wool and the Gang is a knitwear label where every garment, accessory and home item is available either ready-made or as a do-it-yourself kit.
