Boy Meets Girl has extended its partnership with American Greetings Entertainment, the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Care Bears.
The limited-edition collaboration, which stems from a successful ath-leisure program last August, will include a collection featuring the Boy Meets Girl logo and 35 years of the huggable Care Bears. It will be sold exclusively in February at Paris retailer Colette. A separate exclusive collection will be sold on boymeetsgirlusa.com
Boy Meets Girl x Care Bears will release a 10-piece collection, including women’s hoodies, sweats, sweatshirts, tanks and tees. The collection retails from $70 to $115.
Stacy Igel, founder and creative director of Boy Meets Girl, said, “I grew up with the pop culture phenomenon of Care Bears.” She said she was looking forward to seeing Boy Meets Girl x Care Bears in Colette’s windows. The collaboration will be toasted at Colette on Valentine’s Day from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., during which time Igel will greet customers.
“Our 35th anniversary is all about caring, sharing and hugs, so celebrating with Boy Meets Girl and Colette in the city of love is perfect for Care Bears this Valentine’s Day,” said Nora Wong, vice president of domestic licensing, American Greeting Entertainment. “The success of the Boy Meets Girl x Care Bears 2016 collection has amped up excitement for the loyal fans of both brands, and this exclusive anniversary collection at Colette is a testament to Care Bears as a pop culture, lifestyle brand for fans of all ages.”
