With a new executive style team in place — David Witkewicz, executive vice president of design; Michele Parsons, executive vice president of merchandising and Eran Cohan, executive vice president, chief marketing officer — New York & Co. is trying to revamp its businesswoman attire. For fall, the trends ran the gamut from Yves Saint Laurent-inspired silk blouses to men’s wear-like suits to bohemian paisley dresses to pants that were cropped and flared, or some with tuxedo stripes. The firm is clearly trying to move its clothes into a fashion-forward direction but, with the exception of the basic black pantsuits and twofer dresses, the message is still unclear.
