Tommy Bahama has expanded its collection of baseball-inspired sportswear just in time for the start of the 2012 baseball season.

Through its partnership with Major League Baseball Properties, the apparel brand will offer Collector’s Editions shirts, including a Red Sox-Fenway Park model that celebrates the ballpark’s centennial this year, as well as special edition Yankees shirts and team shirts for the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves. The shirts will be offered for sale on staggered dates beginning on Thursday and continuing through May 10. On June 7, a St. Louis Cardinals commemorative World Series shirt will make its debut.

In addition to these six shirts, Tommy Bahama has created a 2012 All-Star Game shirt, which will be available at the end of May.

The company has produced Collector’s Editions shirts since 2009. Each year, only a limited number are manufactured; they feature a numbered label and are sold with collector’s certificates. They are available at select Tommy Bahama stores and on the company’s Web site. They retail for $250.

At the same time, Tommy Bahama will offer a larger assortment of MLB-themed sportswear including knit track jackets (currently available for nine teams), and a collection of half-zip sweaters, pigment-dyed polos and signature camp shirts for all 30 teams. The sportswear retails for $80 to $125 and is also sold at Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor and select specialty stores.

In addition, at Yankee Stadium this year, the company will open a new shop on the luxury suite level. The New York shop joins others at AT&T Park in San Francisco, Wrigley Field in Chicago, Coors Field in Denver, Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia and Nationals Field in Washington.
