Tommy Bahama is not shying away from the National Football League, despite the sports organization’s ongoing issues.
For the second year in a row, the apparel manufacturer has teamed with the league on a licensed collection of premium sportswear. The 2014 collection includes a Collector’s Edition varsity jacket for $595, a Goal Line half-zip pullover for $148, a Scrimshaw Pullover for $148 and Emfielder polo shirts for $118. The products, which will be available at Tommy Bahama stores and online, feature team logos.
At the same time, the company is also sponsoring the Tommy Bahama Ultimate Tailgater Sweepstakes package, worth more than $70,000. Fans can enter to win a customized “woody” teardrop tailgate trailer filled with a Viking grill; a pull-out bar with two refrigerator drawers; a draft beer dispenser, a copper tub for icing down bottles and cans, and a television with an antenna and sound system. Tommy Bahama gear, glasses, barware and a $1,000 gift card to use in Tommy Bahama stores or online is also included and the winner can have the trailer personalized with the logo of his or her favorite NFL team. The sweepstakes runs through Nov. 4.
In addition, Tommy Bahama is working with New York Giants kicker Josh Brown to raise funds to fight cystic fibrosis. Brown is shown in videos that will be available on the Tommy Bahama Web site, kicking a football over New York City landmarks including Central Park’s Bethesda Fountain. The videos are intended to draw attention to Brown’s GoodFor3 Foundation, which raises money for cystic fibrosis research. In support of Brown, Tommy Bahama will donate $10,000 to his charity and host Kick Cystic Fibrosis With Josh Brown events, where donors have an opportunity to meet and greet the player and kick a field goal.
