TYR Sport Inc., is making another bid for the hearts of triathletes.
The Huntington Beach, Calif.-based manufacturer has introduced Sayonara, a high-performance swimskin. The suit incorporates Yamamoto Biorubber Swim Mark III fabric and is designed to be used by athletes in non-wetsuit competitions.
Sayonara is made with a limestone‐based outer surface and a micro‐honeycomb structure that cuts down on drag and helps the swimmer cut through the water more efficiently.
Developed specifically for triathletes, the suit also offers cooling properties is lightweight, quick‐drying and abrasion resistant.
“As the sport of triathlon continues its strong growth, TYR remains committed to providing athletes with the most advanced technology available,” said Ryan Dolan, national sales manager.
TYR’s elite athletes, which include two‐time defending Ironman world champion, Chrissie Wellington, and 70.3 Ironman world champion Andy Potts, will be competing in Sayonara during the 2009 racing season.
Sayonara is available on the TYR Website as well as sports specialty stores. It retails for $300.
