New York’s Frieze art fair, as usual, offered one of the more engaging “fashion shows” in town. At the VIP preview Wednesday night that opened the four-day event, most of the men and women opted for arty outfits — some modern, some vintage and some a mix of both.
There were painted canvas ponchos given to visitors by artist Pia Camil; devil-may-care color combinations and proportions; military jackets worn over long, sheer skirts or jeans, and a wild array of tights. Chic had its moment, too, in the shape of pretty, girly dresses or long columns over matching pants. Naturally, eye-catching and creative accessories — especially the shoes — prevailed.
