Sartorial nostalgia for the Prohibition era converged on Governors Island last weekend for the Eighth Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party. Latter-day flappers and dapper dandies donned their finest dropped waist dresses and Gatsby-esque gear to attend the event hosted by Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra. The throwback festivities felt particularly timely this year, given the release of “The Great Gatsby.” Even director Baz Luhrmann stopped by. Sorry ladies, no Leo sightings.
