As temperatures plummeted last week, WWD took to the streets to see just how ready New Yorkers are for winter. Quite ready, it seems.

To fend off the earlier-than-anticipated chill, they were wrapped in piles of cuddly scarves and snug knit caps, (some with pom-poms) and zipped in boots of every height, from ankle to over-the-knee.

While scarves and shawls made style statements, outerwear ranged from predictable quilted down coats to quirky vintage wool looks and a chic assortment of furs.
