Alcantara celebrated its new space in Milan’s tony district with a cocktail on Tuesday. Situated on Via Pietro Verri, the concept store covers a 3,229-square-foot surface distributed on two floors, with interiors designed by CLS studio’s architect Massimo Locatelli. Locatelli conceived a modern, futuristic space, combining glass, optical white and metal gray elements, to spotlight the offerings realized in the renowned material in collaboration with prominent names of the world of fashion, art and design.
In fact, the Italian company partnered with six designers selected by Vogue Talents and Who Is on Next projects to realize products in a limited edition. Presented in bubble-shaped cases, the capsule collections include patchwork bags by Benedetta Bruzziches; bags with fur embellishments designed by Les Petits Joueurs’ Maria Sole Cecchi; Shourouk’s statement accessories; standout sandals by Nicholas Kirkwood, and exclusive, single-piece garments by Aquilano.Rimondi and Isa Arfen.
Italia Independent’s sunglasses and high-tech products like Master & Dynamic’s headphones, Microsoft’s Signature Type Cover — a keyboard covered in Alcantara material — and Panasonic’s Oled TV are also featured in the store.
The collaborations extend to the lower level, where a customized Triumph motorcycle and a Lamborghini’s seat dominate the space. Works from contemporary artist Jacopo Mazzetti and Chinese calligrapher Qin Feng add an arty touch to the store’s offer.
