Christian Brandonisio has joined Gi Capri in the new role of vice president of the North American market. He reports to Jon McKinney, principal and president of North America.
Gi Capri was founded in Italy in the Fifties and is believed to have created the first unconstructed tailored sport coat, the Giacchtt e Capri. McKinney introduced the brand, which includes a full collection of men’s tailored clothing and furnishings, in the U.S. for the fall.
McKinney said Brandonisio will oversee the made-to-measure business for the brand, a category that Gi Capri is “aggressively going after.”
Brandonisio joins Gi Capri from John Varvatos where he was a sales director for North America. He has also held sales and management positions at Ermenegildo Zegna, Ferragamo and Brioni.
Gi Capri launched at Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s for fall and is expanding into Nordstrom and Harry Rosen for spring.
