HISTORY: New York City-based notebook brand Public-Supply and recruitment and consulting firm Joe’s Blackbook have teamed with American fashion designers Band of Outsiders, Robert Geller, Steven Alan and Tim Coppens for a limited-edition group of notebooks — each with the designer’s signature touch. “We added our sense of color and graphic style to the notebooks; they are crafted with gold foil and hand-painted binders,” said Geller. “We designed two versions of the notebooks with special prints from past seasons, one inspired by Christopher Wool and the other with the ‘Jungle Sunrise’ theme from the last spring collection,” Coppens added.
RELEASE DATE: Available beginning today at Band of Outsiders stores and online.
PRICE POINT: $20
KEY TAKEAWAY FOR THE SEASON: Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will be donated to Joe’s Blackbook Scholarship fund that offers a $10,000 scholarship to one women’s wear and one men’s wear design student at a U.S. fashion school. Joe’s Blackbook recruits talent for the creative, retail, luxury and fragrance sectors. “We spent a lot of time developing fabrics in-house for our ready-to-wear collections, so it’s cool to lend these to a different medium like a paper notebook that people can use every day. And this seemed like a natural and useful way to support Joe’s Blackbook Scholarship Fund,” said Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders.
