The collections will be developed by Israel-based Delta Galil, a global manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label apparel for men, women and children.
Details including prices are being finalized by category.
A portion of the collection will be launched for fall with the balance to launch by early 2013. Distribution will be aimed at Kenneth Cole New York stores and select department and specialty stores worldwide.
Paul Blum, chief executive officer of Kenneth Cole Productions, described Delta Galil as a “strong partner.”
“As was the case with our announcement last month to partner with The Reliance Group in India, this arrangement is another step in our overall strategy to become a leading dual-gender global lifestyle brand,” said Blum.
He added that the licensing pact, which includes lingerie and shapewear, is “critical to rounding out the lifestyle of our brand.…The line will be sold in our 100-plus Kenneth Cole stores worldwide, including Latin America, Southeast Asia and our new territory, India,” said Blum.
Regarding the look of the collection, Blum noted, “Our design and marketing teams are working closely with Delta to develop the collection. I can say the approach will be fresh and modern.”
Delta Galil, which maintains 17 locations worldwide for development, design, logistics, manufacturing and marketing, is known for its seamless apparel including bras, shapewear and socks as well as its “body-before-fabric philosophy,” explained Isaac Dabah, ceo of Delta Galil Industries.
Dabah said the Kenneth Cole name is a “great addition to our branded portfolio.
“We look forward to applying Delta Galil’s strengths in design, product and material innovation, and global distribution to grow both the Kenneth Cole brands and our own business,” said Dabah.
Kenneth Cole’s current licensing partner for men’s innerwear, Esportia International Inc., will continue to ship to current customers during the transition period, said a Kenneth Cole spokeswoman.
