Michael Andrews Bespoke has opened a 15,000-square-foot facility in Shenzhen, China, dedicated to the production of the brand’s customizable suits, which have been manufactured in a shared space in the same region since the company launched in 2006.
The facility will include custom-built workstations and top-end sewing and pressing machines that the company said will quadruple production capacity while also cutting delivery times in half.
Shenzhen will also be home to the third retail location and first international store for the New York-based brand. The Chinese store will measure 1,800 square feet and will target Western expatriates as well as local Chinese consumers. The company also operates stores in New York City and Washington.
“We [will] showcase to the world that Chinese manufacturing can be synonymous with quality and luxury,” said Michael Andrews, chief executive officer and founder.
