NEW YORK — Services for N. William Pandell, an inventor and former textile executive, were held Friday at his home in Niskayuna, N.Y.

Pandell, 70, died Monday of nodular melanoma at his home, according to his wife, Sylvia.

Pandell, known as “Mike” to members of the textile industry, held 15 patents, including one for measuring textile shrinkage. Pandell was an executive of the Sanforized Co. for 16 years, where he served here as its president from 1966 to 1971.

He then became an independent consultant and most recently was president of Loretex, a textile firm in Guilderland, N.Y. The family is planning to hold a memorial service in Nantucket this spring, according to his wife.

In addition to his wife, Pandell is survived by two daughters, Karen Pandell and Debra Bermingham Engle.
