S. Rothschild, a women’s and children’s outerwear manufacturer, has acquired the licenses and fixed assets of Collezione sa Corp., a New York-based maker of men’s outerwear.
Collezione, which was founded in 1993 and owned by Sandy Wax, holds licenses for Elie Tahari coats for men and Izod coats for men and women. Terms were not disclosed.
“We’re excited about this acquisition because we believe these brands will strongly expand the Rothschild presence in the men’s market,” said Mark Friedman, president. “In addition, these brands synthesize very well with our existing women’s collections.”
Rothschild said Wax and most of the employees will remain with the company, which will continue to operate from the Collezione showroom in New York City.
Rothschild was founded in 1881 and produces outerwear for its own labels, Larry Levine, Izzi, Maralyn & Me and Rothschild Kids, and holds licenses for Donna Karan, Elie Tahari, Tommy Hilfiger, Nicole Miller, Izod and Via Spiga.
