Ralph Lauren marked the 25th anniversary of Purple Label with a look back at his traditionally tailored designs over the years.
A Ralph rainbow landed at Lauren’s Milan palazzo, with a lineup of silk shantung jackets in tangerine, bougainvillea pink, emerald and bright yellow.
The designer took piles of prints, accessories and other pieces from the archive and spun them into a collection that was high on glamour, and soft edges.

There were chic nods to hot-weather dressing in the form of a lightweight, unconstructed linen tuxedo that was the color of desert sand.
Models had a cinematic look, as if they were extras plucked from the party scenes in “Downton Abbey,” or even “The Crown.”
The collection centered on taking the best from the past and repackaging it for a new generation.

In his return to New York Fashion Week: Men’s, Ralph Lauren’s Purple Label collection once again redefined classic men’s wear shapes and patterns.
While still cinematic, the collection was less cluttered, and easier to imagine off the big screen.
Lauren keeps his foot on the accelerator when it comes to exalting the good life, expanding his Purple Label range onto the slopes with the “ultimate” in performance fabrics.
The presentation of handsome models told the story of how Purple Label had, beginning this season, absorbed the sportier, hipper spirit of Black Label: seamlessly and luxuriously.
