INTAPP/KNITWAVES MERGE: In a joint venture, The Intapp Group and Knitwaves LLC have created a new company, Knitwaves New York LLC. Intapp is a maker of intimate apparel under the Go Figure and private labels. Knitwaves is a children’s sportswear maker for girls and infants under four labels: Knitwaves, Miniwaves and two licensees, Dollhouse Kids and Smith’s Jeans for Kids.
Ira Glazer, chief executive officer of the new company, and Louis Goldman, chief operating officer, will oversee the combined intimate apparel and children’s wear businesses. Glazer and Goldman held the same titles at the former Knitwaves.
At the Intapp operation, Robert Vorzimer continues as president and national sales manager and Lynne Greene continues as vice president of merchandising and design for intimate apparel. At Knitwaves, Robert O’Callahan continues as vice president and national sales manager and Tony Reynolds continues as vice president of merchandising and design.
The new corporate offices are located at 100 West 33rd Street.
SQUARE CLUB AGENDA: The Intimate Apparel Square Club hosted its annual installation dinner for its 1999 officers earlier this month at Trattoria Alba in Manhattan. Paul Nathan was elected president of the Square Club, succeeding Barry Ross. Nathan is director of purchasing for Klauber Bros. Inc., a lace concern, and Ross is president of Sextet Inc., a textile firm.
Janice Page, a former vice president and divisional merchandise manager of intimate apparel at Sears, Roebuck & Co., was awarded the organization’s Al Jaffin Memorial Award for her contributions to the organization.
