FURMAN EXITS BERGDORF’S TO FORM FIRM
NEW YORK — Gregory J. Furman, senior vice president of marketing and sales promotion for Bergdorf Goodman, has left the company to open his own firm, called Furman Communications & Marketing.
Bergdorf executives could not be reached to determine if a successor has been named.
Furman joined Bergdorf’s three years ago in a consulting capacity and subsequently was named to a full-time post. His responsibilities included corporate marketing, advertising, sales promotion and direct response. In addition, he pioneered the retailer’s involvement with interactive home shopping in a test with Nynex and Liberty Cable.
Prior to joining Bergdorf’s, Furman was involved in developing international strategic corporate marketing for Sun Oil in Canada, the New York Stock Exchange and J. Walter Thompson.
