GIVENCHY SPA SET IN U.S.
Byline:
NEW YORK — Parfums Givenchy’s prestige image will be highlighted this fall when the first Givenchy spa in the U.S. opens in Palm Springs, Calif.
The only other Givenchy spa is at Trianon Palace at Versailles, outside Paris.
The California spa — to be financed, owned and operated by hotelier Rose Narva — will be built on 15 acres and contain 26 treatment rooms.
Narva, who said the facility will open in late October or early November, indicated that she has a collaborative agreement with the Paris-based Givenchy, giving her an exclusive for the U.S., Canada and Baja California. But she declined to provide financial details.
The technology and training techniques used at the Trianon spa will be incorporated at Palm Springs, Narva said. Givenchy’s Swisscare treatment products will be used, and the company’s fragrances and cosmetics will be sold in a boutique.
Plans were unveiled recently during a luncheon here, at the Hotel Carlyle, attended by Hubert de Givenchy, who suggested that there should be three or four Givenchy spas in the world — perhaps with the next one in Indonesia.
